Halloween '05
Oct 29, 2005

Spook Halloween Party III. 7 hours of cooking, 9 hours of partying, 4 hours of sleeping, 5 hours of cleaning up. Luckily there was no wind, or there would have been nothing to eat. The Spanish were shocked that there was raw cauliflower for dipping. They have never seen a vegetable in public before. If you want to download the full size originals, give me a shout.

New Year Beach Action
Jan 1, 2006

The boys were out in the water to impress the girls. Unfortunately the tight wetsuits and hungover perfomrances couldnt hide the scope of this years festivities...

5D MKII +2/3 exposure problem
Jan 16, 2009

90% of every outdoor shot taken with my brand new Canon EOS 5D Mk II comes out 2/3 over exposed. The same shot taken with the 40D come out perfect in all these cases. Here are a few of the many examples. Some are with the same shot take at -2/3 exposure compensation to show the better exposure, and some are with the same shot taken with the Canon EOS 40D, which gets the exposure correct 99% of the time. All shots were point and shoot - I.e they were not recomposed unless otherwise stated. You an now download the originals, and, if you have the canon SW installed, you can look at which focus points were fired. Take any of the 0ev 5DII shots in photoshop/lightroom and reduce the exposure by 2/3 and see which is better (apart from the one or two 5DII shots here which it gets right, included for novelty value). I have taken over 20,000 shots with my 40D, and know exactly how it exposes and how amazingly accurate and consistent it is. The 5DMKII is unusable by comparison - it just keepts getting it wrong enough to ruin the shots for the purposes which I need - I.e. wedding photography. If anyone else is getting this problem, please email me on simon_hobbs@hotmail.com
